Bathurst RELAY FOR LIFE a success!!

 
A massive congratulations to our Bathurst store ladies for their efforts in the weekend's Relay for Life - lapping the oval in awareness and solidarity for those fighting Cancer, and all the friends and families who are and have been affected. 

It's a cause very close our our hearts, with all of us having family members or friends affected, with some currently fighting and some we have lost. 

Between online donations and a last-minute in-store raffle,
the girls raised a whopping $7,800!! 

Big thanks to all our sponsors and donations near and far!  Our suppliers and business houses who stepped up to help support the team. ... and all our customers who threw some dollars towards this amazing cause!

THANK YOU to the fashion shopping houses who came on board to donate vouchers for our raffle - Red Chair Boutique, Galleria, Gorgeousness, La Mode and Sheer Indulgence.  The $700 prize was well received, and a big success, and though only put together very last minute, still helped raise an additional $1,000!!!

Bathurst team in RELAY FOR LIFE 2018

The Bathurst Team need your help for
RELAY FOR LIFE 2018!

 
Very few people go through life without either having a family member or friend being touched by cancer.  

Over the past 2 years, four of our staff members of Easy Living Footwear Bathurst have experienced close family members being diagnosed with cancer, and one has lost a loved one to Leukemia at only 30 years old.


My niece Carly was first diagnosed with cervical cancer 4 years ago at the age of 32, with 3 children, her youngest being only 4 years old.  A radical hysterectomy was performed with the hope that all the cancer had been removed, but 2 years ago it returned.  She was given chemo plus a trial drug which cuts off the blood supply to the tumours.  This was successful for 10 months but in December 2017 the tumours had started to increase and grow, and she now has them in her lungs and stomach.  Another batch of chemo was given but it is not working so now she is on a very experimental immune trial through Monash in Melbourne that has only 63 participants in the world.  We have great hope that this trial will be successful as many immune therapies have worked miracles.

So much research is being done to find a cure for cancer, but it all takes money. 

 
For the above reasons, we have decided to enter a team in the Bathurst Relay For Life which is being held on March 10-11^th and would really appreciate it if you could sponsor our team.

This cause means so much to us all and even though you may not be from the Bathurst area, it all goes to cancer care and research throughout Australia.

All donations are a tax deduction, so why not show your support, and sponsor us in Relay for Life instead of giving it to the tax man!!!

This cause is really close to my heart and amazing progress is being done through cancer research. It seems more and more people are being affected, and it really can hit any one of us without notice.

I really would appreciate any donation you could give to our Relay for Life event, and we all thank you for your support and community efforts in helping fight back against this horrible disease.
